The best of mauve eyeshadows

Lately there's something I've been craving make up wise and this thing is purple tones! I can't get enough. A few weeks ago I wrote about a few autumnal lipstick shades, it is now time for eyeshadows. As I dont' really wear bright purple or full on berry colors on my eyelids I went for a selection of my favorite mauve eyeshadows, from palettes to singles without forgetting bases. Some lean a little more toward the taupe side of the spectrum, some a quite warm, there's something for every taste!

Palettes:

Urban Decay Naked 3 is of course on the list, as well as its cheaper L'Oréal counterpart, La Palette Nuse in Rosé. UD's Shadow Book also contains a few purple shadows among which a very bright one for night outs or for days when you're feeling adventurous. Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette has a nice selection of shades, especially Champagne Truffle, a pale mauve which looks amazing worn with Cherry Cordial in the crease. The Too faced Romantic Eye Palette's middle row helps you achieving that soft purple look in no time (it might be limited edition, although I bought mine on amazon not too long ago), as does Tarte's Tartelette Palette.

Singles:

If you're looking for a mauve shadow in single form, there's no need to look very far as there are plenty of drugstore priced options out there. The cheaper one is probably the Essence Eyeshadow in 10 Dance Mauve. Close behind come the Catrice Absolute Eye Color in 560 I like to Mauve It and 900 Li-la Bamba (which is more purple and has more glitter in it). L'Oréal also has two beautiful mauve offerings the Infallible Shadow in Flashback silver and the Color Riche l'Ombre Pure in Café Saint Germain, which are both very creamy and a dream to apply. This isn' technically a single, but the Wet'n'Wild Color Icon Silent Treatment trio has a very nice and affordable mauve. Lastly the Kiko Water Shadow in 202 (a warm purple taupe) and 227 (a pale mauve) have a beautiful texture and are great used together and on their own.

Bases:

Finally, there are two products that I like to use underneath some of these eyeshadows to bring out the purple tones even more: it is the Astor  24h Perfect Stay Eye Shadow + Liner in Sweet Lavender and the Kiko Long Lasting Stick in 36.
